Utah Family Portrait

Every Family Portrait needs Fall Leaves

We were on the lookout, patiently waiting for Ogden Canyon’s brilliant green leaves to begin to change.  We were anticipating the crimsons, ambers, and maroons that would paint the mountain this coming Fall season.  October first was our date for a beautiful family portrait session in the fall leaves of Liberty, Utah.  This was a special family portrait. Grandma and Grandpa would be front and center in hopes of capturing a cherished moment in time to keep for a lifetime.  The setting was almost in Julie and Pen’s backyard.  They have the most spectacular view from their kitchen window.  One that looks out toward the towering peak of Ben Lomond.

We first arrived at the Ben Lomond Trailhead at North Fork Park.  There were so many beautiful spots to stop and snap gorgeous photos.  We arrived just a mile up the road, pulled to the side, gathered grandkids, grandparents, parents, and began snapping photos of togetherness and gratitude.  We all had to be quick on our feet because other travelers thought a drive up the canyon would be nice also. It’s a good thing Pen and Julie had on their good walking shoes.  🙂  Everyone had fun smiling, laughing, chasing dogs, and hugging grandparents.  The backdrop couldn’t have been more stunning.

After cousin and grandpa and grandma shots, we  jumped back into our cars and headed down to the East meadow of Ben Lomond to capture Cathy and Tyler’s family.  Cathy wore the most flattering fall dress of the decade (Great choice, Lady).  She had her sweet daughter and son dressed in cozy sweaters, jumpers, and smiles to last the evening.  Her daughter’s hair is TO DIE FOR.  I’m partial to curly curls.  🙂  Everyone looked incredible, especially a father and son who love each other dearly.

After our family pictures were complete, the Hollist’s invited me to their home to eat yummy ‘Grandpa’s Chili’ and ‘Grandma’s Chicken Noodle Deliciousness’.  It was such a treat to sit at their round table, marvel at their beautiful home and location.  But most of all I loved basking in their wisdom and generosity.  I’ll take this kind of family portrait job any day.

Love you guys and thank you!
