Southern Utah Here We Come
It’s February 2023 and it hasn’t stopped snowing in Northern Utah since November of last year. Yes, we are grateful for the water, but Luke and Lauren needed engagement pictures with green backdrops not white. Southern Utah engagement pictures…HERE WE COME! Lauren and Luke had the most beautiful vision of what they wanted for their engagement pictures. Southern Utah was going to give us green and even sandy red and white for a beautiful backdrop. We packed up our bags and headed south. I’m so glad we made the trip.
When we arrived into town, everyone else and their dog arrived as well. The town was bustling with sun searchers and red rock climbers. Lauren, Luke, and my darling Aunt Doreen, drove up to Snow Canyon State Park to check out the gorgeous scenery. How many beautiful spots could we find for engagement pictures? Too many to count. The soft sage and red sandy peaks were begging us to take a shot near their splendor.
Snow Canyon Portraits
Our first stop was Jenny’s Canyon. The light was just over the West slope, highlighting the highest peaks in the background. With Lauren in a simple white dress, Luke complimented her in his khakis and white sweatshirt. Complexions and hair color sparkled in the afternoon sun as they smiled, kissed, lifted, laughed, and twirled. Capturing the simple love they had for each other was so easy.
After our red rock portraits, we jumped in our cars and headed straight to the top of the canyon. Lava Flows Trailhead had a majestic landscape of white sandy topped peaks that we couldn’t pass up. Lauren had THE most adorable turquoise jumper to wear for this shoot. Seriously, the subtle and cool pop of her outfit, along with her golden hair and sparkling eyes was all the engagement picture needed. (Luke was a definite bonus to have in the frame as well. LOL) The sun was just kissing the tops of the creamy mountains as the couple walked hand in hand across the desert in bloom. Blissful shots are always my favorites!
For our last shots, this cute couple tickled and tiptoed through the beautiful lava rock, holding on to one another so tightly. I love the individual pictures of them as they walk across the black rock, thinking of not falling, yet loving every minute of this day.
Southern Utah engagement pictures will not disappoint. Trust me. If you’ve got a bride and groom with a vision and zest for life, this is the place for incredible engagement portraits!
Love you, L & L!
