Utah Family Portraits

First Family Pictures Ever!

This will be our first family picture, ever!  Thanks to a beloved sister, who knew her sister needed a overdue treasure, this mother found gold.  Our backdrop was simple farm fair with fields, fall grass, and century old barns.  Don Layton, who’s lived on his family farm since birth, graciously allowed us to shoot this long lasting family portrait on his property.  Located just across the street from J&J Nursery & Garden Center in Layton, Utah, this century old farm has seen fields of onion, barley, alfalfa, cantaloupe, and this past November, a beautiful mother and her children.

Alisha, LilyHaiden, and Deaglan were a delight to work with.  First, Alisha didn’t miss a detail in their fall colored attire.  I loved their boots, burgundy’s and rosy cheeks.  Second, all three were so easy to work with.  Although the crisp fall air was nipping our our noses, the Evan’s family kept a positive outlook as we walked, talked, smiled, and laughed in the golden light of November.  Deaglan has the most dashing expression with eyebrow raised and smolder smile.  LilyHaiden’s cherry cheeks and  deep brown eyes reminded me of a sweet ‘Holly Hobbie’ character in a storybook.  Alisha’s smile, perfect complexion, and gorgeous walnut hair stands as on her own.  She loves her children.  She works tirelessly for their wellbeing and safekeeping.  Because of her incredible strength and courage, her sweet daughter and caring son, thrive.  You can see it in their portraits.

We Got This!

This team of three have the gumption and gusto to keep on keeping on.  Their sweet cat knows it, the century old trees know it, the 1930’s pick up trucks know it too.  A family, any shape or size, is priceless.  I’m blessed to have taken the Evan’s first family picture ever.  They are naturals at just being themselves.  Their smiles radiated togetherness and whimsy.  The farm fit this families character of deep roots, homespun joy, and heart knit happiness.

A big thank you to Mr. Layton for preserving a haven for the human spirit to connect with the earth and reap its treasures.  A one-hundred year old farm is the perfect place for firsts.
